If bluedevil is really the chairman of JIC do you think he might spare a spook or two to deal with our spammers? :-)

I absolutely second your endorsement of the song and lyric finder - it's a wonderful resource.

Alan - I really wanted to respond to your China Doll post but felt inadequate to the task - it really made me think about the people who are gathered inside this big tent of ours. I'm glad you're hear and sharing it with us.

Rob: I also feel inadequate to express my appreciation of your support and the joy I find in our old tent. (I feel like - a great new word I found in Ashes' musicophilia post yesterday - a 'joyologist')

I think there's a language much greater than words which is manifest here and it gives me hope.

I read something recently (can't recall where) but I wrote it down. About Jerry: He was infinitely inquisitive about the nature of consciousness. He called it his hobby. He loved the interface between what is this hardware brain we have and this field of information that we call consciousness that we are all of...but separate from...and swimming in...and participating with...

As for the 'other other ones' for the lack of a better name, I kind of see them as merry pranksters, cavorting in front of stage in agit prop fashion, trying to distract us from the main event. I don't think they mean any real harm and you can't have light without darkness so they make me grateful for what we have all the more.

Just one last observation because it's niggling me...could it be that bluedevil is not alex but just posted the information and the intro page from the song finder site? I looked up bluedevil's posts and he lives in Monterey. I think the idea of a member of HMG being part of the forum, may have run away with me. Although the fact that there is a deadhead running the IS is somehow re-assuring in an odd kind of way.

I merely posted the info - I do indeed live a stone's throw from the site of Monterey Pop (and not any furhter from where a certain Rock Scully now lives).

Alan – you know looking back I think you’re right! It seems I’ve let wishful thinking run away with me. It was such a deliciously weird thing to think that the chief of the UK intelligence services was bandying words with the likely lads and lasses on our dear old forum that I guess I just wanted it to be true. Ah well, they can’t condemn you for dreaming!

And indeed, if he is such a huge Deadhead it stands to reason that he’d know about this place… so, Mr Allan, if you’re reading this good luck to you!
